Known for his charismatic stage presence and talent for transforming hair into works of art, Tim’s iconic career in the hair, fashion, and beauty industry spans more than three decades. With sold out shows, standing room only productions, and his by-appointment-only clientele, Tim is a sought-after industry professional who epitomizes the notion that image is everything.
With the launch of his flagship product line, Tim Johnson Systems, Tim entered a highly-competitive, billion-dollar consumer products market. With Tim Johnson Systems, he changed the game by developing impressive, direct-to-consumer products that tout whimsical names like, “It’s Butta Baby” available in a cadre of nature-inspired flavors. Tim formulated each product to ensure only premium ingredients were used and to offer consumers the promise of standing by each product’s results.
Tim’s healthy hair philosophy is simple, regardless of texture, everyone deserves to love the hair they have. Tim Johnson Systems has essential products for use between salon visits, as well as a full product line of restorative products for at-home haircare maintenance with lasting results.

He has also worked on beauty events such as BET’s Rip the Runway,Radio One’s Women’s Empowerment, and the Bronner Brothers International Hair & Fashion Show. In addition, he is also the Creator and Executive Producer of the BBU Awards, an annual celebration in Raleigh NC, where he celebrates his fellow Professional Hairstylists, Barbers, Makeup Artists, Models, and beauty influencers.

With this in mind, Tim created the Tim Johnson Foundation (TJF). TJFintentionally reaches out into communities where the gifted and talented lack opportunity and resources. It is a charitable organization that provides scholarships, apprenticeships, and mentoring to low income and at-risk youth and young adults ages 14 to 20, who are interested in becoming entrepreneurs, or joining the hair and beauty industry.
